Bismillah...
Alhamdulillah, we are entering the fifth day of Syawal. Everyone is still enjoying the spirit of Syawal. Praise be to ALLAH for granting us the chance to be here and celebrate the month of Syawal. Alhamdulillah...
During these few days of Syawal, nothing extraordinary happens. Except for one that nearly had my heart stopped working. It was on the second day of Syawal where something happened. I was alone in the house with my grandmother while my mother is out to send my aunt and cousin to the bus station, the other aunt already went back to her husband hometown when I heard a loud noise outside (I am in a room). The noise was loud as if something falls from a high place with a loud thud.
Being the curious me, I went out and the sight before me made my knees weak and my heart beating wildly inside my chest. My grandmother was lying motionless on her stomach on the floor. The first thing that entered my mind is "Nyai pengsan!"
I ran over to her side to check her condition. Luckily she was conscious and I tried to help her get up. That's when I saw a pool of blood on the floor and blood were dripping from her forehead. Panicked, I ran back to the room, grabbing my phone to call my mother and randomly picked a cloth to stop the bleeding. Not long after,a cousin of mine come to visit and she so happened to be a dentist. She's the one who clean the wound on nyai's forehead and suggests that she is to be taken to the clinic or hospital. The wound need to be stitched as it is deep. Long story short, nyai received 6 stitches on her forehead.
To be truth, I was so scared when I saw nyai lying motionless and moreover I'm all alone. Should anything happen, who should I ask for help. In the panicky state, I don't remember anything as I was too anxious to make sure that nyai's all right. I was too panicked that I cried. Luckily, nyai is all fine except the part where she had to receive the stitches. Other than that, she is doing fine considering her old age.
And, I'm surprised at myself for not passing out at the sight of blood, just a bit nauseated by the scent of blood as I always thought that I will pass out when I see blood that is not mine. That is one of the reason that I refuse to become a doctor like my mother asked me to. Just a reminder, things happen so sudden that we do not prepare ourselves for it, which is why we always need to be careful in every steps we take. A moment of recklessness could cause an accident to happen.
Always be careful.
Adios!
